What is a Cavapoo?
A Cavapoo is a small companion cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle, typically 3 to 10kg full grown (most of ours toy-sized at 3 to 5kg), with a low-shedding coat. It combines the Cavalier's gentle, people-loving nature with the Poodle's quick mind, which is why it has become one of Singapore's most requested companion dogs for flats and busy households.

Why Singapore families keep choosing the Cavapoo
Walk along Balestier Road on a Sunday and you will see why: the Cavapoo is small enough for a 4-room flat, calm enough for the MRT-and-office rhythm, and gentle enough for toddlers and grandparents in the same household. After a short morning walk, most are happy to settle indoors through Singapore's midday heat.
They are also quick studies. The Poodle side makes toilet training and basic cues genuinely achievable for first-time owners, especially with the trainer lesson included with every puppy. The temperament guide covers what daily life is like.
Cavapoo at a glance
- Cavalier King Charles Spaniel × Poodle cross
- Toy-sized 3 to 5kg for most of ours; minis to 10kg
- Low-shedding, curl varies by generation
- Gentle with children and elderly family
- Settles indoors after short daily walks
Start with one question: who is home from 8am to 6pm?
It is the first thing we ask every buyer at the shop, before showing a single puppy. The biggest factor in a happy placement is not colour or size; it is how many hours the dog will be alone each day.
If someone is home most days, almost any small companion breed can work. If you both work full days in the office, the Cavapoo's tolerance for alone time is exactly why we recommend it over more clingy lookalikes. And if nobody is home from morning to night, we will say so plainly: this is not the right time for a puppy.
A note from the shop floor: the most common mismatch we see is couples set on a Maltipoo when their schedule suits a Cavapoo. Maltipoos want far more daytime company. We have talked buyers out of that mistake more than once, and it is why our reviews mention honest advice more than anything else. The full Cavapoo vs Maltipoo comparison settles it properly.
Which routine are you?
- Someone home most of the day: widest choice of breeds, Cavapoo included
- Hybrid work, 2 to 3 office days: Cavapoo with a settled pen routine
- Both out 8am to 6pm daily: Cavapoo over Maltipoo, plus a midday plan
- Away from morning to late night: we will advise against a puppy for now
What every Cavapoo goes home with
The all-in price is not a marketing line; it is an itemised list. The starter kit alone is 30 items worth over $500: playpen, carrier, bed, grooming set, toilet-training set, food and bowls, oral care and toys. We deliver it free, assemble the playpen in your home, and walk you through how to use every item before we leave.
Your first training lesson with an AVS-certified trainer is included, and we complete the dog licensing paperwork with you at purchase, so nothing is left hanging after handover.
Included with every puppy
- Starter kit: 30 items, over $500 in value
- Free home delivery and playpen setup
- First lesson with an AVS-certified trainer

From our shop to your sofa: the week-by-week timeline
The vaccination schedule is weeks 6, 8 and 12 for core jabs, with deworming at every visit and an optional fourth vaccination at week 16 if the vet advises it. Your puppy goes home about a week after the second jab, at around week 9, and the annual booster starts from Year 1.
Renovating, travelling, or waiting for the flat to be ready? After a deposit we board your puppy free for up to one month, vaccinations continuing on schedule at our cost, and we deliver when you are ready, usually a morning or evening slot that suits you.
First-time owner? Singapore requires theAVS Pet Ownership Coursebefore licensing your first dog; we point you to it during purchase so the paperwork never holds up the homecoming.
The timeline
- Week 6: first vaccination + deworming
- Week 8: second vaccination + deworming
- Week 9: puppy goes home (about a week after the 2nd jab)
- Week 12: third vaccination + deworming
- Week 16: optional 4th jab if the vet advises
- Year 1 onward: annual booster
Can a Cavapoo live in your HDB flat?
Yes. Here is the practical proof: when we transfer a dog licence to an HDB household, the AVS system flags any breed that needs separate HDB approval, and across 100+Cavapoo placements that flag has never appeared for a Cavapoo. You will need an AVS dog licence, and HDB allows one dog per flat. The full HDB guide has the details.
Coats and colours
Blenheim, ruby, apricot, black: what we actually place
Blenheim (chestnut and white) and ruby are the classics; apricot, cream, black and black-and-white come through regularly too. Puppy coats often lighten as they mature, and curl depends on the generation: F1b coats curl more and shed less, F1 coats vary within a litter. We show you the actual coat in person rather than selling a label. See every coat in the colour guide, adult sizing in the growth guide, and what the labels mean in F1 vs F1b explained. Buying safely: verify us, and anyone else, in 60 seconds
Every legitimate pet shop in Singapore appears on theAVS public registry of licensed pet shops. Curious Tails, the shop behind this site, is listed under licence AS24J00046; check it before you visit, and check any other seller the same way.
Puppies sold outside licensed channels are commonly smuggled in without veterinary care, and one buyer has been fined $7,000 by NParks for an unlawful purchase. A licensed shop, published pricing, and paperwork done at purchase is the boring, safe route; we are happy to be boring. Our seller verification guide shows the full checklist.
Your 60-second check
- Search the AVS registry for the shop name
- Match the licence number on their site: ours is AS24J00046
- Ask to visit the physical shop, ours is at Balestier
- Expect vaccination records for weeks 6 and 8
- Walk away from meet-in-carpark deals
Daily life with a Cavapoo in Singapore
Plan for twenty to thirty minutes of exercise a day, split into a morning walk before the heat and indoor play in the evening. Feeding is three small meals a day for a young puppy, tapering to two; teething starts around four months, which is what the chew toys in the kit are for.
Grooming is a few brushes a week, more for curly coats in our humidity, with a professional groom every few weeks. Every puppy leaves us vet checked and microchipped, and sterilisation is usually advised from about seven months, which your vet will time with the annual booster cycle.
A first-time owner's week
- Morning: 15-minute walk before work
- Daytime: playpen routine with toys and water
- Evening: dinner, indoor play, short stroll
- Twice weekly: brushing (daily for curly coats)
- Monthly-ish: professional grooming session
From a Cavapoo family
"Couldn't recommend Curious Tails in Balestier enough after bringing home our Cavapoo. Nelson and Kim gave us a clear care routine to follow, and clearly loves what they do. We loved the aftercare support; you can tell they truly care about the pups and the owners."

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Cavapoo cost in Singapore?
Cavapoo puppies at CavapooPuppy.sg are $3,288 to $5,988 all-in, depending on colour, size and generation. The price includes the 30-item starter kit, home delivery with playpen setup, the first training lesson, and AVS licensing paperwork. Around the market, quotes commonly run $3,000 to $7,000, often before extras.
When can my Cavapoo puppy come home?
About a week after the second vaccination, at around nine weeks old. Core vaccinations happen at weeks 6, 8 and 12, with deworming at every visit, and an optional fourth jab at week 16 if your vet advises it. If your home is not ready, we board your puppy free for up to one month after deposit.
Is a Cavapoo HDB approved?
Yes. When a dog licence is transferred to an HDB household, the AVS system flags any breed that needs separate HDB approval. Across more than 100 Cavapoo placements, including many HDB flats, that flag has never appeared for a Cavapoo. Every dog still needs an AVS licence, and HDB allows one dog per flat.
Can a Cavapoo be left alone during work hours?
Cavapoos handle a working household better than most small companion breeds, which is why we recommend them to couples out from 8am to 6pm. They still need a settled playpen routine, a morning walk, and company in the evenings. If nobody is ever home, we will honestly tell you a dog is the wrong choice.
Is a Cavapoo the same as a Cavoodle?
Yes. Cavapoo and Cavoodle are two names for the same Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle cross; Cavoodle is the Australian term. In Chinese listings you will often see 骑士贵宾犬. Singapore searches mostly use Cavapoo, and either name refers to the same dog.
How do I check a pet shop is AVS licensed?
Search the AVS public registry of licensed pet shops on the NParks website. Every legitimate shop in Singapore is listed there. Curious Tails, the shop behind CavapooPuppy.sg, holds AVS licence AS24J00046, and you can verify it on the registry before you visit us.
Do Cavapoos shed?
Cavapoos are low-shedding, not non-shedding. The curlier the coat, the less hair you will find around the flat, and coats closer to the Poodle side (F1b) shed least. No dog is truly hypoallergenic, so allergy-sensitive buyers should meet the puppy in person first.
What size will my Cavapoo be full grown?
Most of our Cavapoos are toy-sized, finishing 3 to 5kg full grown; minis run 5 to 10kg. Adult height is roughly 24 to 35cm at the shoulder by 10 months, and every size stays comfortably apartment-sized for Singapore homes.
Finding us is easy: the shop sits at 2 Balestier Road, a 12-minute walk from Novena MRT or two bus stops from Toa Payoh MRT, with paid parking behind the block. Come on a weekend morning, meet the puppies, and take your time; genuine advice costs nothing here.
