The mismatch we correct most often
A couple once came to the shop set on a Maltipoo. Routine questions first, as always: both out at 8am, back at 6pm, no helper, no retiree at home. That schedule and a Maltipoo is a recipe for a whining, anxious dog and a guilty pair of owners.
We recommended a Cavapoo instead: similar look, similar warmth, meaningfully more independent. They went home with one, it settled into the playpen with the starter-kit bed and toys, and the five-star review that followed said more about honest matching than any brochure could. That buyer, Andrew, left it publicly on Google.
The pattern repeats weekly: Maltipoo-versus-Cavapoo independence is the most common mismatch we see, and it is why this page exists. The alone-time guide shows the routine that makes it work.
Rule of thumb
- Both out 8am to 6pm: Cavapoo
- Someone home most days: either works
- Want the tiniest lap dog: Maltipoo
- HDB corridor noise worry: Cavapoo
- Unsure: tell us your week on WhatsApp
